The cannolo, how delicious!

Hello everyone. My journey in search of the authentic flavours of Sicilian food continues. A few days ago, before this scorching heat arrived (who knows why… it’s only July!!), word of mouth led me with my video camera to a Palermo pastry shop – all substance – with a master pastry chef who has a good 45 years behind the stove!! I met Mr Nino, an excellent pastry chef who, after a little chat, agreed to appear in a video about the Sicilian dessert par excellence: the cannolo. In fact, for the first time I tried my hand at being a TV cooking host, mostly for fun. Forgive me if I’m a bit rough as a presenter and surely have a long way to go, but what can I say, I never take myself too seriously; I never try to protect my image at all costs and… this is the result. It was worth it anyway, since in the end my reward was a chance to enjoy a proper, authentic cannolo. Mr Nino and I really look like “the odd couple”, very rustic as TV entertainers… but please don’t pay too much attention to that, be lenient critics. Let’s focus on what matters… only the cannolo counts! But watch out! Mr Nino is very protective of his pastry shop, so some secrets are guarded like treasure. I think, though, that if this collaboration continues I’ll manage to reveal a secret or two, for the benefit of the greediest web surfers. The cannolo was really good, though 😉

Until next time
